On Thursday 5 November 2026 I’m leading a Food Miles tour tracing the short journey of beer brewed at Bellfield’s brewery in Abbeyhill to the convivial setting of Nobles, Bellfield’s own pub in Leith. Along the way will be some tasty diversions including a behing-the-scenes visit to the cheese maturing rooms that supply the shops of Mellis cheesemongers. We’ll also pay a visit to The Edinburgh Honey Company and the community growing project at Leith Croft. The tour offers a great way to get to know Bellfield’s range of beers, try out items from the Nobles menu, and explore some of food & drink places that you might not otherwise notice. As always, there will be samples and tastings at the venues we visit. It’s a tour blending brewing, history, fermentation, gastronomy and offering a real taste of Scotland’s contemporary food and drink scene.
Price £85 per person, inclusive of all food and beer tastings (equivalent of a long lunch with drinks). Get in touch if you’re interested in coming along: DM @foodmilestours or email info@foodmilestours.co.uk
Further tour dates and itineraries are available – get in touch to ask.
I’m also happy to discuss bespoke tours: perhaps you’ve got visitors coming, or you like the idea as a birthday or celebration gift, or you’re looking for something different as a work/office/club away-day or team-building session. We walk, eat, drink, explore, chat. Just in case you’re done with paintballing and escape rooms.
“What an indulgent way to spend an afternoon! Donald gave us a really informed meander through some of Edinburgh’s varied food spots and there was a warm (and tasty) welcome wherever we stopped.”
